OK SportsFans Moe’s Tackle Unlimited is going to give First Monday Trade Days in Canton Texas a shot this weekend! I will set up shop Thursday 1-28 around Noon!

The show runs from 8 am til 5 pm Friday 1-29 to Sunday 1-31

Well sorry this is a bit late, but I have been very busy since my return from the Pacific Northwest! I must say Mike Boyd (BTO Owner, CEO, Big Kahuna) of Deschutes River Outfitters has done it once again SportsFans! We had a great trip 11-1, to 11-3 on the Mighty Deschutes River! We had a few new faces on our winter trip, and it was a BEAUTY!

The 1st new face in the Deschutes River Carnival is Brian Huskey ( Varna )! He is a big time movie / photo type fly fishing DUDE! He is the intelligent looking dude holding a camera in all the pictures! You can check out Varna’s work at Fishbite Media

The second new face was Big Country Matt! He was in charge of my Dad ( Moose) and Richard (sorry Richard no nickname 4 ya yet??) A cool dude and a great fly angler!

The 3rd new face to our Merry Circus was Rob the Bagger! Rob was great in the kitchen and had some very interesting stories!

Well you can not fish all the time, so off to San Antonio we GO! Got an invite from SHAD PERRY to watch the Cowboys practice, so off we went.

Had a great time, San Antonio is a very cool city. We had dinner at Kirby\’s San Antonio, wow what great food and service!

Cooper Lake is SUPER

If you like 4-8 lb Hybrids and magnum sand bass, then Cooper is your lake! I fished Cooper with STEVE PEBLEY the last week of July, and he did not disappoint! We found fish from 3 pm til Dark-Thirty on mid lake humps 10 ft to 20 ft deep! The weather was HOT, but if you could cowboy up, hybrids could be taken on the almost famous FIESTA SLAB CHARTREUSE, KAHUNA PRO DIAMOND BRASS, and soon to be released NITRO POP CHARTREUSE 4.5 INCH

Steve knows Cooper like the back of his hand, and puts his peeps on BIG FISH. If you want to leave the DFW crowds and hang huge HYBRIDS, contact STEVE PEBLEY and get ready for ACTION!

The campgrounds and facilities are TOP SHELF at Lake Cooper. We camp at the South Sulpher Unit and enjoy it every time! Take the short drive to Cooper, call Steve, and enjoy! moestackleshop.com gets to Cooper at least 5 times a year, you should too!!!

Thanks to Ruben and Sketer Steve and Steve Pebley for a great trip. Cooper is my favorite lake, and if you make the trip it will be one of yours as well.

The only words I have for the 2009 Deschutes Brewery Sagebrush Classic at Broken Top is WOW! I went to this charity fundraiser for children with no expectations, and departed a HUGE FAN. Great food from chefs all over the USA and my favorite brewery!

All the money raised goes to a great cause! A win,win,win combo! I will be back for 2010!

Deschutes River Trip 7-09

I was lucky enough to get to angle with my long time buddie Mike Boyd the first week of July. Mike Boyd, or O’l Dirty Boyd owns Deschutes River Outfitters and does a great job of educating, entertaining, and most importantly putting clients on lots of BIG FISH! We floated from Trout Creek to Harpum Flats for 3 beautiful days on the Mighty DESCHUTES RIVER!

If you are looking for great fly fishing, beautiful scenery, superb food, and memories of a lifetime with each cast, then book a trip with DIRTY BOYD! I promise you a trip of a lifetime!!!

The spring and summer produce native redside trout with the highlight coming mid may to the first part june and HUGE Salmon Fly HATCHES! The redsides go nuts and are easy to pick off with a well placed cast! July,August, and September offer massive caddis fly hatches with cool opportunities in riffles and back eddies!

The best part gets started Bocktober til you can not stand the cold weather! Yes that is correct Steelhead on the FLY! Spey rods and swinging articulated leeches, or better yet skating a bug and watching a 10 lb Steelhead BLOW UP! I can hardly wait! Dirty, thanks for another awesome trip and see ya in November.
